The fall of postal letters

Ya’ll got to agree with me that postage of letters has greatly fallen, comparing to thirty years back and beyond. l wasn’t there thirty years back but l know. l doubt there are many people still posting letters, save maybe for companies and for school children (boarders mostly) lol. At a boarding school, letters are just about the only means possible to talk to a person of the opposite sex. At my last boarding school you were not allowed to talk to boys and vice-versa, so letters made it easy. They were cheap also, no need for envelopes and stamps. You knew it would take less time for it to get to the recipient. The only thing you needed was a trustworthy person, to deliver your letter.

It is no secret that revolution of information technology has outdated the writing of the letters. Technology has greatly improved and it still is. No one is interested in writing down on paper what they have to say and wait for days for it to get to that person. There has been invention of mobile phones, computers and all that. Social media is taking over. Facebook and whatsapp have become affordable, lets not forget twitter which is absolutely free. Communication has been made fast and easy and very much interesting. So am sure to those who have existed long enough and  experienced the letter posting period are grateful to technology and for its many benefits. Besides some of ya’ll got ‘un-readable’ handwrititngs outchea..
