Church vibes…not so lit

I have never for one second doubted or questioned the existence of a higher power (I have a recent testimony to it, but that’s a story for another day). I have always been nervous of the white guy with long hair, in a long white rob and sandals who is watching over me. I am a Christian but I suck at it, I mean I do things that the white long haired guy I’m sure is not proud of.

I like Jesus, he is described as this cool guy. So compationate, and using the modern language, he ‘chilled’ with everyone and didnt have the #can’tsitwithus attitude. He is such a forgiver and good at giving second chances, I again, testify to that.

Being a Christian is hard and that’s a given. ‘Christianity’ is meant to follow a status quo; Christians do– good all the time, dont assocciate with non-christians e.tc and they don’t– drink alcohol, don’t indulge in premarital sex, are not gay/lesbo, don’t listen to ‘earthly’ music e.t.c. If you’re practising the latter list then you and Him are in the #SameWhatsappGroup.

However, what I have seen is that I am not the only messed up Christian. We have become really skilled at covering it up and looking ‘holy’ on the outside. This then leads to being dellusional and judgemental because we are ‘nailing’ this Christianity thing. I happen to be the nerd in the herd!

Too much love and care is served in churches but so is spite (I wanted to say and hatred also but nah). And that literally drives others, like myself outside the church. Sometimes its as if its a struggle to fit in, not to come as you are. I never #esperedit.

Other thing, Christians don’t seem to be used to sitting down, keeping QUIET and LISTEN to others. Its as if what we say is what goes. We give out the instructions. We constantly feel the need, the urge to validate people’s experiences and prove ourselves right. That is ‘agit là d’inepties.

Church has become one of those things I do, like going for cricket.
